Your not sad or if you are so am I as I also join in In it to win it on the Lottery with Dale Winton playing along with the red button sometimes I do quite well but other times I'm rubbish but that's how it goes you never know what sort of questions that they are going to be asking.

Best wishes

Welf

Hi Welf, How are you today ? Sorry I've written to you on your letter to Pat. I too love all these quiz shows, & I must admit I get a lot of the answers right, although some of them are way beyond me. There are definately some numpties, although in all fairness,it must be very hard to try & think, with all those cameras on you & knowing that there are millions of people watching you. I think my mind would be blank & I wouldn't be able to answer either. I would be so embarrased, especially if it was an easy question. But hey what's easy ? That's what I like about Deal " Only one question " :D :D
Haven't been getting much done in the way of gardening. The weather's been really bad. I'm going to invest in that gardening tool that we were talking about. That should help a bit
Anyway Welf I've been chattering on here for a wee while now, the time seems to fly by when I'm on here,so I'd better see what's needing done. I'm having a kind of lazy day today,so I guess I won't be looking too hard for something to do. Take care Suzy xxx :)

Hello all. I am new to the forum and have posted a question in another section. However you all seem really active on here for a long time and may be able to help. I have just been unsuccessful in an audition this week. Talked too quickly probably. I was almost last in my group to do my 60 second chat and made me a bit nervous and some said they did not have time to say much. Made me hurry and I talk quickly anyway. Did not think I would get through somehow and sure enough, out in the first stage. Never mind. However I would like to try again. I am 61 and I they may have had enough people that age I suppose.

Hi Rosyrosie, So sorry you weren't successful in your audition. Did you get a silver ticket ? I had an audition last Aug. In Newcastle, & was told by the team that I had done very well. However I got the dreaded e-mail to say that I hadn't been chosen. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I really thought I had got through. I'm not giving up hope 'tho. They say we shouldn't put in another application,so I won't, but like I said I 'm not giving up hope. I too am elderly, but I don't think it makes a difference as to how old you are. I hope not anyway. Don't give up hope. You just never know. Good Luck :)

Hi Suzybaky

No I did not get a silver ticket. I might have been better by the time I got to the 5 minute bit as I knew I had talked bit too fast on the one minute talk. Everyone seemed convinced I would get through at home as I am lively and sociable, but nearly everyone there very chatty expecially the women. I was not told not to apply again as i did not get to that stage and obviously got no further feedback so I do not know what the official situation is really. I guess anyone with a silver ticket could be approached again but I am sure I would not so applying again would be my only chance.

Hi Pat

All that food sounds lovely and having it outside as well you certainly know how to live good on you. Hope you enjoyed your birthday day having all the family around you.

After seeing that documentary by the BBC a few yeas ago I think that Crufts is very cruel the things that these breeders do to these animals to make them look better. That's why I won't watch it anymore and how much do these people get paid for commentating and they can't tell the difference between a lady dog and a boy dog sorry finished my ranting now.

Best wishes

Hi Sandybanks

So sorry to hear about poor Buster not being very well at east you were prepared to give him a good home and a nice life such a shame but these things happen.

Thank you for the message about my Son he is going back to college next year to complete the full degree in animal care (I've forgotten what the course is really called) and then we will wait and see what happens.

Hi Suzy

Don't worry about the garden just yet it's not fit to be out in it in this weather put your feet up and take it easy while you wait for the sunshine to come back then you can be out there when it's nice and warm.

I like the quiz shows but like you I can answer some of the questions most of the time but in front of the cameras I'd probably turn to jelly

Best wishes

Welf

Hi again Rosyrosie

Sorry I forgot to welcome you to the forum I'm glad you found us in chatters. I have replied to your question in the other post but to be honest we can only go by what other players have told us as admin haven't come back to us with the answers to our questions.

I hope that you do get a second chance but I have to say you were lucky to have a chance at all as many of us have not had that.

Best wishes

Good Afternoon Everyone, Hope you are all well. It's quite a nice day up here today, after all the horrible stuff we've had recently. Let's hope it just keeps getting better. I've now got an appointment to see the specialist at the eye clinic. Thank goodness. I go on 4th April. Still a wee while away, but at least something's being done. I'm feeling really sad today, :( got a phone call from Sharon to tell me that her wee dog Caley. had passed away last night. She hasn't been well for a wee while now & we were expecting that she didn't have too long to be with us. She was 12 years old..It is so hard when you lose the wee pet you've had for all these years. She was just like one of the family. She could actually say "Hello & I wuv you " to us. She was so cute.I'm going to miss her so much, but at least we know she's not suffering any more. She's at peace now, & hopefully with my Dave. He was so fond of her.. Anyway, the tears are starting to flow again, so take care everyone. I'm off to give my wee Suzy a cuddle ( My wee dog ) Talk again soon xxx

Hi Suzy

So sorry to hear about your daughters dog passing away although 12 is a good age for a dog it still doesn't help when the time comes does it. My dog is 12 this year and she is slowing down a lot now can't begin to try and think what it will be like without her.

So glad you've got your appointment through at last to see someone about your eyes I hope the waiting time for the operation isn't going to be too long for you.

Best wishes

Welf

Thanks Welf.Caley was such a lovely wee dog. We all loved her so much. She had gone deaf & her back legs were bad with arthritis,so the one consolation is that she's not suffering any more. Poor wee things, they can't really tell you just how much pain they could be suffering. They suffer in silence. Sharon still has another dog (Skye ) & a wee three legged cat (Teal'c ),so they will help her through. I have my wee Suzy,so I'll get some comfort from her, & I suppose as days go by it'll get easier. Anyway it's getting late, think it's time for bed.. Night Night . Take care. Suzy xx :)

We're having a terrible day up here. It has been snowing all day. & the flakes are huge. I don't think I've ever seen them so big. After such a glorious day yesterday. It' unbelievable hoe quickly it can change. In fact it was so nice yesterday, that I decided to change my heavy curtains & put up some nice summery ones. Brrrrr.!!!! I'm hoping it'll change again soon & we'll get some heat. :) Enjoy your tap & tone class tonight. Take care xxx :)

Thanks Welf. I haven't been in town yet, but I certainly think i'll be getting one. I certainly won't be needing it for a while, although the weeds'll be growing like mad, under all this snow we're having today. It hasn't halted, since early this morning. I thought we had seen the last of it  Anyway I musn't really complain, when I see what those poor people in Japan are having. Bless them. What a terrible ordeal for anyone to come through. My heart goes out to them. I'm off now to get some dinner organised, Got a nice wee casserole cooking slowly ,it must be just about ready Yummeee !!! Talk soon Take care Suzy xxx :)

Hi Rosie,Sorry you didn't get the silver ticket, but you never know, you should try again. You know the old saying. "If at first you don't succeed, try try try again ". :) Go for it Rosie. And Good Luck. By the way,did you enjoy Archie's game yesterday ? I thought he was hilarious. :D Take care :)

Hi Suzy

I'm way behind and catching up with everything. I'm pleased you will soon see the doctor.

What a shame about poor Caley, my thoughts are with you and your daughter. They are so much a part of your life aren't they?

I had a nice day on Sat with all the family but didn't do much on Friday. I have a tap dance class every Friday morning so that is me finished for the day. Ha Ha. We are all of the same age (luckily). I find I am OK with the steps and the little bit you learn of the routine but as you add all the little bits together that's when I have a problem with the old memory.

Take care Suzy and give wee Suzy a lot of cuddles.

Pat

Hi Welf

Sorry I haven't answered your post. I noticed that they 'starred' out my lady dog. I never thought of it when I wrote it. I know what you mean about the cruelty. There was a lot of talk about dogs beeing bred for the show ring etc but they are now trying to change it and the judges have to take a more active part in the chain. At the same time I also blame the people who buy the dogs because they are fashionable. They were talking to the chap in Australia who was the first to breed a Lab and a Poodle. He did it so that it could be a guide dog for people who were allergic to dog hair and said he hadn't profitted from it. Other people were selling them for a load of money. At the end of the day it is a cross bred dog, not that I have anything against them - after all the in breeding they can make a better dog.

They were also talking about tail docking being stopped and that this would be in the show ring in the next couple of years. Now this is the bit that really riled me up. They were saying that for instance a spaniel who now had a tail would have a different 'gait' and would need to get used to the motion of a wagging tail and they would have to 'modify' the breed to cope. Once again they are messing with nature.Well I think that's my rant for now.

I did have a lovely day on Sat, thank you. The food was nothing fantastic, I just like to put it out nicely and that helps. I was a bit greedy. I made a rasberry roulade. In case you don't now, that is a meringue that you spread with whipped double cream, sprinkle with rasberries or strawberries and then roll up. Well there was quite a large slice left but it's difficut to transport so no one took it home with them. So I had a LARGE slice Sat evening and a LARGER slice Sun evening. Well it wouldn' thave kept any longer with the cream in it. Ha HA some excuse that is.

Hope your gaden claw works out for you. The soil can look very fine after you go over it with one.

Take care

Pat

That's the real beauty of the game , its not knowledge or strategy ,just pure luck

After he had such a good day yesterday, poor Buster was quite poorly ,during the night

They think he may be suffering ,from some thing called cushing's disease, but to determine this it involves very expensive blood tests ,followed by operation and then expensive meds .

Hope your son gets the job he wants ,in the end welf , a very fulfilling career

Hi Sandy

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Sorry I am only just replying. It was a coincidence that it was Fran's birthday as well. As you say hindsight is a wonderful thing.

How is Buster getting on, poor little dog he must be so confused. It's such a shame after Freddie doing so well since you had him.

Take care Sandy.

Hi Pat

I don't know with you and your tap dancing and Sandybanks with her tap and tone you're waring me out

I agree with what you are saying about these dog breeders they make me mad as well

Glad you had a lovely day on Saturday that raspberry roulade sounds lovely I've got an idea if I go to Suzy's house for the first course and have a nice casserole I could then come to your house for desert and have that lovely raspberry roulade the only thing is how far away are you both and will I make it in time  I'm only thinking of you Pat having to finish that off on your own and then having to face the consequences.

Best wishes
